In the evening of the parana day, take the sankalpa for the Prabodhotsava and Tulsi Vivah together.
Set the Tulsi pot in the courtyard, raise a canopy of sugarcane over it and draw a rangoli. Place the Shaligram or Vishnu image beside it.
Worship Vishnu and Tulsi with the sixteen offerings, reciting the Purusha-sukta. Give both the mangal-snana, and dress Tulsi in a red chunari with turmeric, kumkum and bangles.
Ring bells and sound conches, and wake the Lord with the mantra 'uttishtha uttishtha govinda'.
Join Tulsi and the Shaligram with a sacred thread, perform kanyadana, and take them around the Tulsi in pheras.
Perform the aarti, give dakshina and feed brahmanas as one is able.
Whatever was given up for the four months is now given away as dana, and the vow is offered to the Lord.
PanchamritTulsi was Vrinda, the devoted wife of the asura Jalandhara, whose faithfulness made him unconquerable. To end his war on the gods, Vishnu took Jalandhara's form and broke her vow. When she learned the truth she cursed Vishnu to become a stone, the Shaligram, and gave up her life; from her ashes grew the Tulsi plant. Vishnu, honouring her devotion, promised to wed her every year and never to accept worship without her leaves. The story is told in the Puranas; its chapters have not yet been read at the page. The day and hour of the wedding are the Dharmasindhu's.
